Definitely there is a price differential. I'm not surprised Seattle is high, and if it's convenient for you, go with them as long as they're a good, reputable shop. I don't know if that includes resurfacing the rotors. They didn't mention that when they called me back and told me what they needed to do to fix the loud squeaking noise in my breaks I was hearing. Don't know if they automatically do that. It's has a Firestone sign on the shop. I'm new to the area so I don't know any auto shops here yet.

I'm almost certain it will include the resurfacing. If it does, it's not a unreasonable price. Could be cheaper, and it could be more expensive. As long as they do good work, and stand behind it, right. Can you do it yourself?

I realize not everyone can. I looked up priced for reasonable parts not bare bones cheap stuff on rockauto. It's not performance stuff, but not cheap economy crap either. Using the cheapest available rotors and pads But you get what you pay for and cheap brake parts tend to squeak unless very well greased up during the install.

Autozone usually prices matches rockauto. That just seems high but i've always been a DIYer with brakes. Last edited by BostonMike7; at Please register to post and access all features of our very popular forum.
