    Wondering what steps are involved to get your motorcycle licence? Let us help to de-mystify the process — simply select your state below to get started.

    This is run over 2 days, for 3. This course will teach you how to ride a motorcycle and enable you to obtain your Learner Licence from the RMS. Students need to wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy footwear. Stay Upright offers courses to assist you to practice the skills you will need for the Pre-Provisional Licence and ongoing riding.

    This course will develop your skills on the range, as well as take you out on the road with the instructor. You will hold your P1 Licence for 12 months. You must wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy footwear. Helmet and gloves are provided on the Learner course, and available for hire, along with a bike, on the Pre-Provisional Course. You will not be able to start the course and will need to make a new booking.

    You will not be able to start the day and will need to make a new booking and you will also need to do the first day again. The course is designed to teach someone who has never ridden a motorcycle.

    If you can ride a bicycle and have good balance and coordination then you have the basics. To obtain your motorcycle licence in ACT, you must be 16 years and 9 months old, be an ACT resident or are about to become one and have an Australian drivers licence — Learners, Provisional or full. This is run over 1 full day or 2 days for 3. This course will teach you how to ride a motorcycle and enable you to obtain your Learner Licence from Access Canberra.

    It is a one day course — 6. This course will develop your skills on on the range, as well as take you out on the road with the instructor. You will be issued you your Provisonal licence for 12 months if over the age of 26 and have a full drivers licence.

    If you have a drivers provisional licence you will be on your rider provisional licence for the same period or 12 months which ever is longer. Attend Access Canberra and upgrade licence to unrestricted licence. Upgrade is dependent on age and driver licence status — if over the age of 26 and also the holder of an unrestricted Australian driver licence then you can upgrade to an Unrestricted Motorcycle Licence.

    Helmet and gloves and a bike are provided on the Learner course, and bike hire is available for the Pre-Provisional Course. The course is based around zero motorcycle experience, all you need is a good sense of balance and coordination. Your motorcycle knowledge test is a paper-based test consisting of 32 questions. It will teach you how to ride a motorcycle and how to reduce risks while riding on the road. Upon successful completion we will issue you with a Motorcycle Learner Permit which is valid for 15 months.

    VicRoads will mail you your motorcycle learner permit card. The Check Ride is a compulsory 3. It is made up of on-range and on-road activities. It must be completed at least one month before going for your Motorcycle Licence Assessment the next step. While there is no minimum waiting period between completing your Learners Permit and Check Ride, you must wait at least 1 month after your Check Ride and 3 months after obtaining your Learners Permit before attempting the Motorcycle Licence Assessment MLA the final step.
